God Teaches Love
I've been pondering this morning on God's love for us and what an amazing love that is. Real love changes us and makes us different than we were before we loved. We all desire unconditional love and it is love not fear that captures our heart and makes us passionately desire God and want to serve Him with our lives. When we examine the life of Jesus, what we see is Real Love. What is real love? It is selflessness. It is a willingness to submit to the needs of others. Jesus showed us what love is and how we should demonstrate it for He willingly left the splendors of heaven to execute a plan to save us by His marvelous grace because He loved us. Love is always a choice and in that choice to love us He made the first move by His sacrifice, He loved us first and enabled us to learn Love.
When we seek Him, our heart becomes more like His and we will discover the amazing delights of knowing Him and learning to live empowered by love. I have been pondering this passage of Scripture this morning out of (Jeremiah 9:23-24) which says, "Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord."
You see, the more we seek to know and understand God, the more we experience the purest delights of His presence. He teaches us to love and His love powers us and because God is omnipotent, His love is the most powerful force on earth! Our love is powered by God's sweet presence.
