Mountaintops and Valleys

In (2 Kings 20: 22-29) I'm reminded this morning that He is Still God, Even in the Valley. It was treacherous times for the people of Israel. Their wicked King Ahab had been guilty of leading the people to worship the god of Baal instead of the Lord God Jehovah. Wickedness filled the land of Israel and they were headed on a collision course with the judgment of God. But in the midst of their sins, God still loved His people.  Israel was being attacked by Syria and God allowed Ahab and the people of Israel to defeat the Syrians and claim the victory. God wants us to come to the place where we realize that He is God regardless of what we are facing in life. He wants us to get our eyes off our need and get them on Him who can supply and take care of that need. Many times if we're not careful we will live in defeat and discouragement because we refuse to embrace victory by faith. O how victory is available all the time in every situation for every child of God. What are you facing today? It may be that the Devil has and is using the tool of discouragement in your life. It may be you are feeling defeated and you're a million miles away from the mountaintop. What a blessing it is to know that the God of the mountain is still the God of the Valley. The God of the good times is still God in the bad times, and when things go wrong He'll make them right. The secret to enjoying the valleys, is learning that God is in control. If we grasp that, we will always be on a mountaintop with God in our heart and victory will always be ours. Do you have a burden too big to bear? Just tell Jesus about it and take it to the Lord.
