Signs of Promise

It has been a blessing this morning in reading Psalm 133. Verse 3 says "As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore." I was thinking this morning about that dew. In the life of every child of God there is a freshness in living for God. Dew in the Bible was a sign of God's favor and blessings upon the children of Israel. Everytime it dewed upon them it was in fulfillment of a divine promise. O how I like to go to church when the dew drops are falling. I'm so glad this morning that the Holy Spirit lives in me and it only dews on our lives when the condition is right. I've studied that in Palestine from May to October during their drought season that all forms of vegetation will disappear from off the region because it gets so hot and dry there. The only thing that will sustain that land is in the coolness of the night God will send a gracious dew. Sometimes it gets a little weary and dry in the Christian life, but Thank God He's still pouring out water upon the thirsty and refreshing the Saints of God. In what greater way can God favor you and me than to pour out His precious Holy Spirit upon our lives. God has favored the Church in giving to us the power of His blessings. Dew is when warm air passes over that cold surface and condensation is formed. I'm so glad when the warm winds of the Holy Ghost breathes on our cold hearts and it's not long before the Dew starts forming. Aren't you glad that in those times when we get away from God, He doesn't get away from us? He is always Faithful. I want to be where God commands the blessing and that is where His people love Him, they love each other, and they love the lost.
